How old are the children in the Plan Padrino program?

The Plan Padrino program includes children of all ages.

What is the minimum and maximum length of time to be a sponsor within the program?

A minimum period of one year is recommended in order to achieve a close bond between the godparent and the child. The maximum sponsorship period depends entirely on the sponsor.

Can a child have more than one Godparent?

No, each child can only have one godparent.

Can a godparent sponsor more than one child?

Yes, each sponsor can sponsor as many children as they wish, covering their needs as stipulated by the Sponsor Plan.

Can the godparent choose the age, gender and/or origin of their godchild?

No, godchildren are assigned randomly to avoid discrimination of any kind and provide opportunities for all children in the community.

Can I establish direct contact with the scholarship child?

It is recommended that all contact with the beneficiary children should be through the foundation.

Can I give gifts to my sponsored child?

Yes you can. However, we recommend that these be sent through the foundation.

How to Request a Donation Certificate for Tax Deduction in Colombia?

If you are a Colombian income tax payer, whether you reside in the country or not, you can request a donation certificate. Juventud Líder, being a non-profit organization incorporated in Colombia, cannot issue tax deduction certificates valid abroad.

If you require a donation certificate as a natural or legal person, it is necessary to send your name, ID, telephone number and address to the email [email protected] and send it by postal mail to this address: Avenida 0 No. 19-23, Caobos Cúcuta, Colombia

• Photocopy of the donor’s ID
• Proof of deposit for legal entities
• Tax ID (RUT) valid for no more than 60 days
• Certificate from the organization’s Chamber of Commerce valid for no more than 60 days
• Proof of deposit. Remember that the certificate delivery process takes up to 30 calendar days.

How to Apply for a Gift Certificate for Your U.S. Tax Deduction

If you require a donation certificate in the United States, simply submit your full name and email address. This certificate will be sent via email immediately.

In the case of recurring donations, what is the minimum commitment period?

The Juventud Líder Foundation recommends a commitment of at least 6 months, so that your donation can have a real impact on the projects.
